Connected
Moving Redmond forward means connecting with our neighbors to solve problems. Growth and transportation issues don't stop at the City's borders. If we ignore our neighboring cities, their problems become our problems.
Creating connections with one another and with our neighboring cities helps build a stronger community.
I have made connections by...
- Working as a founding member of the Lake Washington Schools Foundation to raise money to support our public schools.
- Teaching marriage preparation classes with my wife Debbie to build strong families in our community.
- Coaching youth soccer and baseball to help children learn the values of teamwork, persistence, and hard work.
- Serving as a member of the Cascade Water Alliance to ensure clean, safe drinking water for Redmond and other suburban communities for the next 50 years.
- Working on a parks bond issue to create more and better places for residents to connect with nature and each other.
As Mayor, I will also work to...
- Improve the City's street grid so pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists can move more easily within Redmond.
- Establish Park and Ride lots east of Redmond so traffic can flow around the City rather than through the City.
- Finish the sidewalk system and add to the trails system to connect neighborhoods with each other.
- Connect your tax dollars to the services you receive.
- Create a more lively downtown with mixed use developments
- Connect Redmond to other cities and government entities in the region to ensure our voice is heard on land use policies, transportation systems, and other common services and challenges.
