Education
The proper education is important in serving as a top level manager, especially as a full-time Mayor. After graduating with my Bachelor of Arts from Seattle University, I knew my vocation was community service. I went to the University of Washington and earned my Masters in Public Administration in two years. At the University of Washington I focused on financial and human resources management. Many of my management and economic classes were taken from the University of Washington’s highly rated Masters in Business Administration program. The overlapping perspectives of the business and public administration schools taught me that the two sectors need to work together to make our community great. Although experience adds to your education, I still seek out opportunities for learning. In 2006, I graduated from the inaugural class of Leadership Eastside. This experience gave me new insights into leadership. It will serve to improve my effectiveness and added to my connections in the Eastside Community.
